Do I need a privacy policy?
Yes. If you collect and store data from your website users then yes you will need a privacy policy. GDPR regulations require a privacy policy on your website if you have a contact form or a newsletter sign up. The primary purpose of a privacy policy is to inform your site’s visitors about how you collect, use, store, and disclose their personal data.

Do I need a cookie policy?
Yes. If have cookies on your website you need a cookie policy. The majority of websites have cookies as they are used for things such as Google Analytics. Some websites will have more cookies if you have advertising tracking pixels from platforms such as Facebook or LinkedIn. You can include your cookie policy as part of your privacy policy or have it as a separate policy.
A cookie policy and cookie warning banner are a requirement of the GDPR regulations. KIJO adds a cookie acceptance banner to all our websites. You should keep this updated if your cookies change.

How do I get one?
There are a few different ways to get one:
- Ask your legal counsel or company solicitor to produce one for you.
- If you don't have legal counsel then you can use online tools to purchase and generate policies. Some of the most well known are Rocket Lawyer and LawDepot.
- KIJO has a standard template which you can purchase from us. This requires editing and needs checking over by a qualified legal professional.
