Gutenburg Editor & Blocks

Gutenberg is the native WordPress block editor.

You’ll typically encounter it on KIJO builds that don’t use Elementor, or when custom Gutenberg blocks have been built for performance or scalability.

It’s designed around modular blocks—text, images, columns, embeds, and any custom blocks created for the project.

🧱 What Gutenberg Is Used For

  • Editing content on sites built with the Block Editor instead of Elementor
  • Using custom KIJO-built Gutenberg blocks for fast, lightweight layouts
  • Adding simple content updates (text, images, buttons) without a heavy page builder
  • Achieving strong performance and high Lighthouse scores on block-based builds

✏️ Editing with Gutenberg

  1. Open the page or post you want to edit.
  2. Each section is a block — click to edit, duplicate, move, or delete.
  3. Use the + icon to add new blocks (paragraphs, headings, images, custom blocks, etc.).
  4. Use the right sidebar to control block settings such as colours, spacing, alignment.
  5. Click Update to save.

⚠️ Notes on Custom Blocks

KIJO often builds custom blocks for layouts such as:

  • Hero sections
  • Feature grids
  • Testimonials
  • Logos
  • FAQ accordions
  • Repeater-based blocks tied to ACF fields

These blocks are designed to keep layout consistent and content editing simple.
