Learndash

LearnDash handles all course delivery: lessons, topics, quizzes, certificates, and user progress. It’s structured and reliable, but requires discipline to keep content organised.

🧱 Course Structure

A LearnDash course usually contains:

  • Course β†’ The main container
  • Lessons β†’ Primary content blocks
  • Topics β†’ Sub-sections within lessons
  • Quizzes β†’ Knowledge checks
  • Assignments β†’ Optional uploads
  • Certificates β†’ Issued on completion

This hierarchy ensures content stays organised and scalable.

✏️ Creating or Editing Courses

  1. Go to LearnDash LMS β†’ Courses.
  2. Add New or Edit.
  3. Use the Course Builder to add lessons, topics, and quizzes.
  4. Publish or update.

Lessons and topics have their own content editors where videos, text, downloads, and images are added.

Under LearnDash LMS β†’ Reports, you can:

  • View who is enrolled
  • See progress
  • Check quiz results
  • Reset user progress if needed

πŸ”” Notifications (Optional Add-On)

If enabled, email triggers can notify learners when:

  • They complete a lesson
  • They finish a course
  • They pass/fail a quiz

βš™οΈ Best Practices

  • Keep course content modular β€” short lessons perform better.
  • Test quizzes and progression rules thoroughly.
  • Avoid mixing manual enrolments with automated ones unless necessary.
  • Use consistent naming for lessons/topics to avoid confusion later.
