WooCommerce
WooCommerce powers all e-commerce functionality on KIJO sites — products, orders, customers, coupons, and store settings. It’s robust, widely supported, and highly extendable.
📦 Managing Products
- Log in to WordPress.
- Go to Products in the left-hand menu.
- Click Add New to create a product or hover → Edit to modify one.
Key product types:
- Simple Product – straightforward items with a single price.
- Variable Product – products with variations (size, colour, options).
- Grouped / External – more advanced setups used only when required.
Important fields:
- Title & Description – what customers see on the product page.
- Product Data Panel – prices, inventory, shipping, variations.
- Product Image / Gallery – the main visuals.
- Categories & Tags – used for filtering and shop navigation.
🛍️ Managing Orders
Orders can be viewed under WooCommerce → Orders.
Each order has a status:
- Pending – unpaid
- Processing – payment received; needs fulfilment
- Completed – order fulfilled
- Cancelled / Refunded – self-explanatory
You can update order statuses manually, add notes, or resend email receipts.
💳 Coupons
Found under Marketing → Coupons.
You can create percentage discounts, fixed discounts, free shipping, or code-specific promotions.
⚙️ Best Practices
- Keep product images optimised — large images slow the store down.
- Always test a purchase flow after major changes.
- Avoid unnecessary plugins; they slow checkout and create conflicts.
- Keep WooCommerce updated, but only after testing on staging.
